Lenovo just announced something pretty clever at CES on Monday: ThinkPad laptops that actually pay attention to how you work and adjust themselves automatically. Think of it like your laptop learning that you always open Zoom at 9am, so it starts getting things ready before you even click.

The new ThinkPad X1 and X9 Aura Edition models watch what you do—which apps you use most, when you switch between tasks, that kind of thing. Over time, they start predicting what you'll need next. About to join a video call? Your laptop already boosted the camera quality and made sure you have enough bandwidth. Writing a long document? It's quietly saving battery by dimming things you're not looking at.

What makes this different from other "AI laptops" we've been hearing about is that everything happens on your actual computer. Your work habits and files never leave the machine, which matters a lot if you handle sensitive information. Lenovo worked with Microsoft to build this into Windows 11, so it's baked in rather than tacked on.

The AI can even tell when you're giving a presentation and will automatically bump up your screen brightness and speaker volume. Small things, sure, but the kind of stuff you'd normally fumble around trying to adjust while everyone waits.

Lenovo hasn't given an exact release date yet, but these types of business laptops usually ship within a month or two of being announced. Expect to pay somewhere between $1,200 and $1,500 depending on the specs you choose. They'll be available worldwide through Lenovo's usual business sales channels.
